Bridgewater Place

The opening of Bridgewater Place, Leeds

In December, the official opening takes place of “Hello Friends”, a giant 17.5m sculpture located in the atrium of Bridgewater Place, the tallest building in Leeds. The sculpture was designed by Bryan and Laura Davies and comprises nine stacked red fibreglass modules.

Scriptus was commissioned to manufacture the light boxes fitted within the modules, which illuminate dramatic graphic displays. Each light box contains dimmable, long life, hot cathode lamps linked to a DMX control unit.

The effect is stunning. The flashing display dominates the large open space within the atrium, providing a dramatic feature to the entrance of this impressive building.
